Job summary

Dwight-Englewood School is seeking Substitute Teachers for Pre-K 3 through 5th grade to support students, teachers, and families. The Lower School focuses on growth and development, with emphasis on listening and collaboration in a diverse community. Requirements include sixty college credits, knowledge of child development and classroom expectations, and a commitment to equity.

Prior elementary experience is preferred. Daily rate is $150 for a full day and $90 for a half day.

Qualifications

Dwight-Englewood School is currently searching for Substitute Teachers for grades Pre-K 3 through 5th grade. D-E's Lower School is a place where teachers encourage children to embrace every aspect of childhood while paying close attention to each students' academic growth and progress.

The ability to listen, work with a diverse community and a range of learners, as well as humor and humility, are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support and model the spirit of the Mission and Foundation Documents of the Dwight-Englewood School in work with students, faculty, parents and community members
• Demonstrate knowledge of, experience with, the developmental, social, emotional and cognitive issues of the elementary grades

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• A minimum of sixty (60) college credits completed
• Understanding of child development, curriculum expectations and benchmarks, for elementary school students
• Experience with, and a commitment to, diversity and equity work with young children
• Previous experience working in an elementary school setting preferred

For this position the daily rate will be $150 for a full day and $90 for a half day.
