Job summary

Ignite Education Solutions is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher Liaison to be assigned daily within the Greater Johnstown School District. Hours follow school district schedules, offering a collaborative environment and professional development opportunities.

Pay starts at $135.00–$145.00 per day plus part-time benefits, including PTO, retirement options, and discounts. This role supports classrooms and allows growth within our organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is the minimal requirement.
• Willingness to go through four clearances, mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test.
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping for long periods of time.

You have a purpose and so should your job. Ignite Education Solutions is hiring a Traveling Substitute Teacher to be assigned daily to an open position. This position will be within a specific group of districts where you have been pre‑approved to work.

What are the duties and responsibilities?

Classroom Management

• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
• Understand the responsibility of being a mandated child abuse/neglect reporter according to PA State Law
• Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom by straightening chairs and tables, cleaning chalkboard at the end of the day, and making sure all items are left as they were in the beginning of the day
• Take attendance in accordance with district procedures
• Indicate to students at the beginning of class the basic expectations for behavior in the class in accordance with school district policies
• Ensure that students are never left unattended in the classroom or put in an unsafe situation
• Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives
• Carry out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher whenever they are available
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units or projects assigned

What are the required qualifications?

• A Bachelor's Degree is the minimal requirement.
• Willingness to go through (and pass!) the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: four clearances, mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight‑hour day.
