Scoot Education is seeking substitute teachers in San Diego to supervise and support students in classrooms, playgrounds, or cafeterias. You’ll foster a safe, inclusive learning environment and follow lesson plans left by the teacher.

The role offers daily pay, W-2 employment, direct deposit, and paid training opportunities. A teaching credential or 30-day substitute permit, background checks, and references help you stand out; bilingual or special-education experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks.
• TB risk assessment or test.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment; encourage student engagement.
• Manage routines, behavior, and transitions, following lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Communicate clearly with school staff and leave feedback for the returning teacher.
• Observe and adapt to varied environments, indoors and outdoors.

Daily Pay Range:

$168 - $221.Pay will vary forday-to-day assignments and is typicallymore for long-term placements.Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits

You’ll Stand Out If You:

• Have previous experience in special education settings
• Are bilingual and/or have bilingual teaching experience

What You’ll Do:

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher
• Communicate clearly with school staff
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher
• Sitting, standing, and walking, and able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, incl. indoor and outdoor settings
• Additional role requirements will be in the handbook and shared during the interview process
