Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking substitute teachers to support classrooms across California. Our consultants match you to school assignments aligned with your credentials and experience, with ongoing 1:1 check-ins for feedback, training opportunities, and career planning.

Positions are day-to-day, with paid training opportunities, direct deposit weekly pay, and W-2 employment that simplifies taxes. A teaching credential or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor
• State & federal background checks
• TB risk assessment or test
• Teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit
• Previous experience in education settings (including special education)
• Bilingual and/or bilingual teaching experience

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions following lesson plans
• Communicate clearly with school staff
• Leave notes or feedback for the returning teacher
• Observe and communicate across indoor and outdoor environments

Daily Pay Range:

$200 - $263.Pay will vary forday-to-day assignments and is typicallymore for long-term placements.Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

What You’ll Do:

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher
• Communicate clearly with school staff
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher
• Sitting, standing, and walking, and able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, incl. indoor and outdoor settings
• Additional role requirements will be in the handbook and shared during the interview process
