Job summary

Lake Dallas ISD is seeking a substitute teacher to provide learning activities and supervision in the absence of the regular teacher. You will implement lesson plans, manage a classroom, and maintain attendance and behavior in alignment with district policies.

The role is part-time and non-exempt, reporting to the Principal or Substitute Coordinator. A high school diploma or GED is required, with basic instructional and interpersonal skills emphasized for a positive campus environment.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans provided by absent teacher or staff.
• Use appropriate teaching strategies reflecting student needs.
• Work with teachers to modify curriculum when needed.
• Submit attendance reports and maintain classroom order.
• Leave notes or substitute reports at day end.
• Report accidents or incidents and follow safety procedures.
