Job summary

Kelly Education is hiring substitute teachers for Gateway Science Academy of St. Louis. Substitutes are essential to keep students learning daily, with roles including substitute educator, guest teacher, and paraprofessional tasks as needed.

Minimum: 18+ (20+ for high school), 36 college credits or a HS diploma plus substitute training. Pay rates include $160/day for teachers, $15/hour for aides, and $13/hour for clerical staff. Benefits and weekly pay available.

We are hiring substitutes in Gateway Science Academy of St. Louis.

Substitute teachers may also be referred to as substitute educator, guest teacher, or relief teacher. Substitute aides may also be referred to as paraprofessionals, education technicians, teacher’s aide, instructional assistant, classroom assistant or education assistant.

Minimum Requirements:
  • 18+ years of age (20+ to substitute within high school level)
  • 36 college credit hours or high school diploma AND completion of substitute training course
  • Kelly offers the substitute Pathways Substitute Training course for candidates without the 36 college credit hours - Missouri Substitute Certification Process (https://dese.mo.gov/educator-quality/certification/substitute-teachers)
Substitute Pay Rates:
  • Teacher: $160 per day
  • Teacher's Assistant, including SpEd: $15 per hour
  • Clerical: $13 per hour
Responsibilities and Job Description(s):
  • Assume duties of the district employee in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies
  • Empower students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
  • For long-term teacher assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as build, administer, and grade tests and assignments
