Summary

This Substitute Teacher position supports the classroom and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. Responsibilities include assisting the Lead Teacher in implementing a quality educational program and developing positive relationships with children and their parents.

The substitute teachers support the Lead Teacher through learning and daily tasks.

Winfree Memorial Preschool is a nationally accredited preschool that has been serving families in the Midlothian area for over sixty years.

Duties

• Assist in implementing curriculum activities and encourage participation by children.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Help ensure smooth daily transitions from home to preschool.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Christ Centered - commit to actions that develop a closer walk with Christ through active involvement in a Christian church program.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers.
• Communicate effectively with children.

Requirements
