Job description

Substitute Teacher Early Childhood Special Education

We are seeking a Substitute Certified Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for our NW Center for the 2024/2025 school year. The candidate must hold a valid Nebraska Teaching/Substitute Certificate. This role is based in our Omaha Public School's IEP classrooms at CRCC and follows OPS's calendar.

The candidate must reside in the Omaha, NE metropolitan area, as this is an in-person position, and must be eligible to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.

CRCC offers Children's Day Health Services, including Pre-School programs, behavioral health, and rehabilitative therapy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing educational programs, activities of daily living (ADLs), and personal cares for CRCC clients;
  • Creating daily lesson plans and instructional materials;
  • Providing small group instruction tailored to each child's learning level;
  • Maintaining a safe, organized, and clean environment following ECERS guidelines;
  • Completing accurate assessments and documenting progress using Tadpoles and documentation walls;
  • Engaging in professional development as needed;
  • Communicating effectively with families and staff via CRCC's Tadpoles platform.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education with certification in Early Childhood Education and Special Education (preferred) or Substitute Teaching License;
  • Nebraska Teaching License;
  • Ability to meet health and background check requirements;
  • Experience with preschool children, especially those with special needs;
  • Completion of 12 CEU hours annually;
  • Patience, flexibility, and understanding in working with children, parents, and colleagues;
  • Ability to develop and implement lesson plans;
  • Physical ability to lift up to fifty pounds and perform two-person lifts when necessary.

Compensation: $20-$26 hourly wage
