Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents is seeking a Substitute Teacher to deliver educational services to school age children attending Cumberland Academy. The role follows the Academy Standards under the Director of Education.

Located in New Kent, VA, you will join an experienced team providing care and education in a supportive environment. The position emphasizes documentation, collaboration, and flexible duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required.
• Licensure/Certification: CPI (bi-annually), CPR (BLS Provider annually), First Aid (two years) Certifications.
• Physical requirements: lift up to 50 pounds; standing/walking/kneeling; CPR/First Aid ability.

The Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing educational services to school age children attending Cumberland Academy according to the Academy Standards, as instructed by the Director of Education.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide educational services to assigned students.

2. Implement behavioral strategies in the classroom as developed by the team.

3. Complete all documentation in a professional and timely manner.

4. Provide verbal and written documentation to student's team members.

5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred, but not required.

Licensure/Certification: Maintain current CPI (bi-annually), CPR (BLS Provider annually) First Aid (two years) Certifications.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• 80-90% of the time, the incumbent is standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching while working with patients.
• Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients.
• Ability to perform CPR and First Aid.
