Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide on-call supervision for children across infants to school-age groups. You will follow existing classroom plans, ensure safety, and support staff in maintaining a nurturing environment.

Flexible scheduling supports short- or long-term absences at Riley Crossing and Towerlight centers in MN. The role requires Minnesota Rule 9503.0032 qualifications and less than one year of experience in child care.

• Less than 1 year experience in child care or early education.

• Support implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
• Engage with children to promote positive social and emotional development.
• Communicate effectively with staff and, when appropriate, families.

Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Child Care Director, the Substitute Teacher provides on-call support and supervision for children in assigned classrooms, including infants, toddlers, preschool, or school-age groups. The Substitute Teacher follows existing classroom curriculum, ensures the safety and well-being of children, and supports staff by maintaining a positive and nurturing environment. This role may cover short- or long-term absences and requires flexibility and adaptability to different age groups and routines.

This role will substitute at our Riley Crossing Childcare Center in Chanhassen, MN and Towerlight Childcare Center in St. Louis Park, MN.

This schedule includes;

• 48 hours every two weeks

Required Qualifications

• Must meet Substitute Teacher qualifications under Minnesota Rule 9503.0032
• less than 1 year experience in child care or early education

Preferred Qualifications

• A.A./A.S. Early Childhood Education or related field
• B.S./B.A. Early Childhood Education or related field
• One or more years in licensed child care setting
