Norwell Community Schools is seeking a Substitute Teacher to support classroom activities for absent certified staff. The ideal candidate must be able to read safety documents, communicate effectively, and solve practical problems. A flexible attitude is essential.
The role includes engaging with students in a safe and inclusive environment, ensuring their well-being, while adhering to school policies and procedures. Salary and benefits will be determined by the Master Contract.
Works with the Building Administration to perform the duties assigned to support the classroom for absent certified staff.
Substitute Teacher
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of children, parents, employees, and members of the School Board.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to utilize equipment, technology, and work aids appropriate to the functions of a high school principal.
