Location: Burlington County Special Services School District - All Campuses

Position Summary

• The Burlington County Special Services School District (BCSSSD) is seeking motivated and compassionate Substitute Teachers to support students with unique abilities across various classroom settings. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to student care, adaptability, and teamwork.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's Degree preferred)
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities in educational settings (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and collaborate effectively with staff
• Ability to lift and assist students with physical needs (up to 50 pounds)
• Completion of NJDOE-required training, including Safety Care and/or Behavior Intervention training
• Must pass criminal history background check
• Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status required
• Must establish NJ residency within one year of hire
  
  

Responsibilities

• Support students with mobility, personal care, and physical needs, including feeding, toileting, and lifting
• Assist in maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment
• Follow lesson plans and directives from classroom teachers and administrators
• Engage positively with students, staff, and families
• Perform duties requiring extensive standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching
  
  

Salary & Hours

• Daily Rate: $150 per diem
  
  

Schedule: Part-time, up to 29 hours per week during regular school hours based on district needs
