Job summary

Edkey, Inc. is seeking a flexible substitute teacher to support K-8 classrooms. You will follow established lesson plans, reinforce classroom routines, and help maintain a positive learning environment.

This role may involve short notice calls, substituting across grade levels, including general and special education settings. Strong communication and reliability are essential, with a Bachelors degree required.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement the teachers lesson plans and classroom routines with fidelity.
• Maintain a safe, respectful and positive classroom environment that aligns with school-wide expectations.
• Manage student behavior in a manner consistent with the school's behavior policies.
• Provide clear instructions and support to students while promoting engagement and learning.
• Take attendance and report any student issues or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch and dismissal as assigned.
• Leave detailed notes for the returning teacher summarizing the day's activities and any notable student behavior or issues.
• Protect the confidentiality of students and staff in accordance with school policy and legal requirements.
• Follow all school policies, including safety procedures and code of conduct expectations.
