Job summary

RCM Technologies in Los Angeles area seeks a Substitute Teacher to provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular teacher. You will follow approved lesson plans, maintain an orderly environment, and support student engagement.

The role may include grading, supervising students, and additional duties as assigned by the site. Requirements include a California Teaching Credential or 30 Day Substitute Permit, plus background screening and TB clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Background screening, TB clearance, credential verification and onboarding required prior to assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provides learning experiences and teaches lessons prescribed by the classroom teacher or administrator.
• Develops instructional materials suitable for a wide range of learners.
• Provides individual and group instruction to meet student needs.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student conduct to promote participation.
• Follows school protocols and procedures.
• Grading assignments, supervising students, and providing general classroom support as assigned.

Job description

Daily Rate: $250-275/day

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Position Summary

Under the direction of the school leader, the Substitute Teacher provides classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Follows lesson plans, maintains a productive and orderly classroom environment, and supports student learning and engagement. May perform additional duties such as grading assignments, supervising students, and providing general classroom support as assigned by the school site. Assignments may vary by grade level, subject area, and school setting.

Responsibilities

Schedule/Shift

• Full Day: up to 8 hours
• Half Day: up to 4 hours
• School Year: As needed, including daily and long-term assignments
• Schedule follows the assigned school calendar

Key Duties

• Provides learning experiences and teaches the lessons of study prescribed by the classroom teacher or administrator.
• Develops and uses instructional materials suitable for verbal and/or visual instruction of students with wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturity.
• Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student control required to achieve effective participation in all activities.
• Provides appropriate instruction and activities for students to meet school/District policies goals and objectives.
• Follows school protocols and procedures.

Requirements

Credential

• Must possess a valid California Teaching Credential or California 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit.
• Must meet all applicable school, state, and local requirements.
• Successful completion of background screening, TB clearance, credential verification, and onboarding requirements required prior to assignment.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required.
• California 30 Day Substitute Permit or California Teaching Credential required.

Experience: Experience working with children or in educational settings is preferred.
