State of Maine is seeking a Substitute Teacher support paraprofessional for Kingman. This intermittent, part-time role provides direct assistance to identified special education students per each IEP, helping with classroom tasks, playground and cafeteria supervision, and one-to-one care as needed.

This intermittent position provides direct support for identified special education students as determined by each pupils Individual Education Program (JEP). This is paraprofessional support work in either assisting teachers with routine matters such as classroom preparation, playground, and cafeteria! supervision, and providing assistance to students in completing supplemental work or providing direct one-to-one care as determined by each student's IEP.
Carries out classroom curriculum/daily lesson plans as outlined by regular teacher. Maintains discipline in the classroom.
Assumes out-of-classroom duties as assigned by the principal (such as playground duty). Reacts to poor behavior in a fair and constructive manner.
Teaches and reinforces good manners in the classroom.
Documents all serious behavioral disturbances to the building principal.
Grades, records, and returns subject area tests.
A two (2) year combination of professional education, training, and/or experience in education or related field.
The selected candidate will be required to pass the required background checks (fingerprinting may be required) as a condition of employment.
