Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis seeks a substitute teacher to support teachers and uphold the school’s Christian mission in daily classroom settings. The role requires at least 60 college credits, a preferred bachelor’s degree, and Indiana Substitute Teacher Permit.
Experience with students is valued. You will model Christian character, follow lesson plans, maintain order, and collaborate with staff to ensure continuity of learning.
To serve in a substitute capacity for teachers who are absent from their scheduled teaching assignments. In that role, the substitute will equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to function as mature, responsible Christians in accordance with the school mission statement.
The employee is a Christian with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ in both their professional and personal life with a calling and commitment to Christian education. Establish positive relationships with all the varied members of the HCS community. Display an inherent passion for God, students, and teaching Demonstrate respect for others, especially students Exhibit professional discernment and good judgment. Offer a godly example that honors school standards and expectations. Address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.
A minimum of 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred. In addition, qualified candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain a current, valid Indiana Substitute Teacher Permit. Classroom experience is strongly preferred.
