Independence Classical Academy is seeking dependable Guest Teachers to support our K–5 students and school community. We open as a classical charter school built on Core Knowledge, Singapore Math, structured literacy, and Latin.

No teaching license is required to apply. Guest Teachers will step in when a classroom or specials teacher is absent, follow the day’s lesson plans, and help keep students learning, safe, and on track.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfort working with K–5 students and following daily lesson plans.
• Must be dependable and reliable with steady presence.
• Background check and fingerprinting required; no teaching license required.

Responsibilities

• Step in for absent teachers and follow the day’s lesson plans.
• Support students in K–5, Art, Music, and PE as assigned.
• Ensure student safety and learning progress during the shift.

Independence Classical Academy is a classical charter school built on the Core Knowledge Sequence, Singapore Math, structured literacy, and Latin. We opened in August 2026 and are excited to welcome substitute teachers who want to be part of our growing Falcon community.

What You'll Do

Guest Teachers step in when a classroom or specials teacher is absent, follow the day's lesson plans, and help keep students learning, safe, and on track. Opportunities may include our K/1, 2/3, and 4/5 classrooms, as well as Art, Music, and PE.

• Full-day and half-day assignments available
• Choose your own availability and accept assignments that work for your schedule
• Opportunity to support students in K–5, Art, Music, and PE

Requirements:

• Must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
• A steady, patient presence and a genuine desire to work with students
• Comfort managing a classroom independently
• Dependability and reliability
• Prior classroom or childcare experience is helpful, but not required
• Background check and fingerprinting required
• No teaching license required to apply
