Job summary

Compass Christian Preschool, a ministry of Compass Christian Church, seeks a caring substitute teacher to support our classroom lead. You will assist with daily activities, maintain routines, and provide a safe, nurturing environment for children aged 18 months through Transitional Kindergarten.

The role is part-time, 8:30 am–2:30 pm on Tue/Thu/Fri as needed, with a focus on responsive, child-centered care and teamwork with staff. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Responsibilities: Follow established routines; take directions from lead teacher in the classroom.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Listen and follow directions; be organized; be a team player; maintain high standard of care; lift up to 25 lbs.; think on your feet; work under pressure; assess and respond to situations; maintain a positive attitude; show courtesy, respect, acceptance and patience; respect diversity; ensure no abuse in care of children.

Compass Christian Preschool is a ministry of Compass Christian Church. Compass is a church of 4000 and growing with campuses in Colleyville, Grapevine, Roanoke and Online. The preschool provides early childhood education, for children ages 18 months through Transitional Kindergarten in a loving Christian environment.

Substitute Teacher Synopsis

A loving and caring individual assigned to work as a classroom assistant teacher with a lead teacher.

Hours

8:30 am - 2:30 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and/or Friday.

This is a part time, as needed position.

Qualifications

  • Maintains, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom. The substitute teacher will take directions from the lead teacher in the classroom.
