Job Title: Substitute Teacher

Location: Varies depending on substitute teacher needs

Reports To: Building Principal

Work Schedule: Varies as needed

Salary Schedule: $175.00 a day & $190 for long-term jobs. Half days are paid at $87.50 per day.

Position Purpose: The role of a Substitute Teacher is to ensure that students receive quality instruction in the absence of their regular teacher.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university.
Valid/Current NE Teaching Certificate required, we also accept Local Substitute Certificates.
A demonstrated philosophy that all students can and will learn
Reliable attendance
Excellent communication skills oral and written
Positive interpersonal skills
Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the Nebraska Board of Education.

Equipment: This position may require the ability to use basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines. Must always comply with Bennington Public's guidelines for equipment use.

Travel: Limited travel will be required.
