Job summary

Clinton Public Schools is seeking reliable substitute teachers and paraprofessionals to support learning across district classrooms. You will assist with delivering lesson plans, manage student engagement, and help maintain a positive, orderly environment.

These positions offer flexible, short- and long-term assignments with opportunities to mentor students and earn steady income while balancing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School Diploma/GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Fingerprints required.
• PERS Retirees allowed.

Responsibilities

• Lead instruction in the classroom per the teacher’s lesson plans.
• Instruct students on a variety of topics and courses.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Assign reasonable tasks and homework.
• Motivate students to learn and participate in class.
• Create a learning environment appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• For long‑term assignments, develop lesson plans and create/grade tests and assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies. This includes:
• Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans
• Instructing students on a variety of classroom topics/courses
• Building positive relationships
• Assigning reasonable tasks and homework
• Motivating students to learn and encouraging classroom participation
• Create a classroom environment that’s conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
• Adapt to the various learning styles of students
• For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lesson plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments
