Job summary

Desert Choice Schools, a Learn It Systems division, seeks a Substitute Teacher to work with students with emotional and behavioral needs. You will deliver instruction, implement classroom management, and support behavior interventions under supervision.

You will rotate with a team of technicians, follow the school schedule, and adapt to variable days/hours while maintaining professional and clinical conduct at all times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Active substitute teaching certificate issued by AZ DOE.
• Experience with emotionally/behaviorally challenged students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions, de-escalation, and crisis interventions as needed.
• Assist classroom teacher with behavior documentation, management, and instruction.
• Maintain student records and follow curriculum and schedules.
• Collaborate with peers and supervisors and respond to feedback.

Responsibilities

Substitute Teachers will be a part of a team that works with students with emotional and behavioral needs providing therapeutic interventions, de-escalation, pre-crisis and post crisis interventions as well as instruction in the event our regularly scheduled educator is unable to attend work. This position is supported by one to three behavior technicians who assist the classroom teacher with classroom management, behavior documentation and reporting, implementing social/emotional/behavioral interventions as well as participating in teaching and instruction. Teachers are responsible for curriculum and instruction, classroom management, as well as other documentation and maintaining student records if needed.

• Must have the ability to safely and effectively use Crisis Management Interventions (including the use of therapeutic holds) of all involved (e.g. self, student, other employees

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Active and valid Substitute or other Education teaching certificate issued by AZ State Department of Education
• Experience working with emotional and/or behaviorally challenged students preferred
• PCMA certified is a plus but not required.
