The Spencerport Central School District is seeking substitute security workers. Applicants must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment for the NYS Education Department before employment begins, and must pass the Civil Service exam when required to maintain eligibility.
Duties include patrolling buildings, enforcing Board policies, supporting administrators in emergencies, monitoring exits, handling crowd control, and reporting incidents.

Candidates must be eligible for appointment as Security Worker, as per the rules and regulations of the Monroe County Department of Human Resources and Civil Service.* Applicants must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment for the NYS Education Department before employment begins.
Competitive, no exam is currently required per the Monroe County HELP program. New hires will be appointed on a permanent basis.
Provide per-diem/substitute security worker duties under direct supervision of the Senior Security Worker and Director of Security, patrols school buildings to ensure a safe and secure building environment, as well as the personal safety of students, staff, and visitors.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma. Experience as a security guard or security officer may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. *Candidates must take and pass the next available Civil Service exam in order to maintain eligible for employment as security worker
Previous experience with students K-12, ability to work with students, staff, and the public, willingness to work additional hours as need, willingness to work an alternative work day schedule as required to support educational and district program needs.
Current registration as a Security Guard with the New York State Department of State.
4 hours per day (mid-day), 4 days per week (Monday and Tuesday required), with flexibility for additional hours.
$20.00 per hour for licensed security guards,$25.00 per hour foractive/retired law enforcement
