Overview

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER (K-12) – FT, PT. Carter G. Woodson School is a non-profit charter school in Winston-Salem, N.C. We serve 500 students from grades K – 12 each year and support over 80+ staff. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Substitute School Teachers to join our team. The desired candidate for this position will have a passion for education and exercise responsible leadership. The candidate will communicate in a professional and positive manner at all times with parents, staff, students, school officials, and any other individual they may come in contact with.

Job Type

As needed; on campus.

Responsibilities

• Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards;
• Teach academic concepts relevant to school students, including math, language arts, science, and social studies.
• Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards;
• Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;
• Prepare students to successfully pass all state-required assessments, including EOGs and/or EOCs
• Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions;
• Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior;
• Be accountable for students\' mastery of academic standards;
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues;
