Job summary

Orting School District seeks a dedicated substitute staff member to assist the principal in maintaining a safe, well-monitored environment for students. Duties include enforcing site rules, providing first aid, resolving disputes, and monitoring playground safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents.
• Organized and efficient manager of time.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide for the safety of students at assigned work area by enforcing the rules for the site.
• Administer basic First Aid and assistance to students.
• Help settle disputes between students through problem-solving methods.
• Report and document serious concerns/incidents to the school administration.
• Be aware of potentially hazardous conditions in the assigned work area.
• Promote opportunities for cooperative interaction/play between students as appropriate to the assigned work area.
• Help monitor special circumstances/needs for individual children.
• Work cooperatively with other staff members in the school.
• Keep track of playground equipment on a daily basis.
• Be a positive role model for children.
• Work with students in behavioral remediation settings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
