Pay Grade: $40/hour Sub/Temp Work

Pay Type: Hourly

Contract Work Year: 190 Days

Reports To: Executive Director, Special Education or Designee

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Georgia PSC Certificate; Service Certification (S) in School Psychology (P-12).

GOAL

To identify and remediate special learning and/or emotional/behavior problems of students through comprehensive psycho educational assessment and consultation with school staff, parents and students.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond appropriately and within federal and state guidelines to referrals for initial psychological assessment and for reevaluation of children in special education programs.
  • Demonstrate a competent understanding of the psychometric characteristics of a variety of assessment instruments.
  • Demonstrate appropriate consultative skills in parent, teacher and student conferences.
  • Communicate psychological assessment results and recommendations both verbally and through written reports.
  • Participate in eligibility and program decisions in meeting the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Participate in and contribute to professional development activities.
  • Recommend appropriate remedial and intervention procedures for students.
  • Manage time and resources effectively.
  • Provide differential diagnosis in areas of intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities and emotional/behavioral disorders.
  • Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
  • Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
  • Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
