Job summary

Middlesex County Public Schools is seeking a Substitute School Nutrition Staff to assist in preparing and serving meals for students and staff in the Middlesex County Public Schools cafeteria. Position: SubstituteSchool Nutrition Staff

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To prepare, cook and serve hot and cold food to students, faculty and staff.

Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed accurately, loudly or quickly.

Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.

Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written, oral instructions. Involves routine work according to clearly prescribed standard practices, with some latitude for independent judgment.

Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise the judgment required in situations characterized by repetitive or short cycle operations covered by set procedures or sequences.

Physical Ability: Sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently; Finger dexterity(picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm), grasping(applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm).

Sensory Requirements:Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability.

Environmental Factors: Tasks are usually performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic, poisonous agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
