Job summary

Fremont County School District 14 is seeking a School Nurse to strengthen the health status and learning of students in the district. The role involves coordinating immunizations, screenings, and health programs, maintaining student health records, and advising on health matters to staff and teachers.

Responsibilities include referrals to physicians, managing emergencies, and reporting to the Superintendent.

Professional and legal requirements as they relate to the School Health Services Program.

Responsibilities

Conducts school health services and coordinates programs such as immunizations, strep throat, dental care, sports physicals, and screening of vision, hearing, growth and development.
Maintains up to date cumulative student health records.
Establishes procedures for emergency illness, accidents and first aid.
Refers and maintains contact with physicians and community agencies regarding children’s health needs.
Reports to parents and school personnel on school medical matters.
Provides care of students or staff who have suffered injury or emergency illness.
Authorizes exclusions and readmission of students with infections or contagious diseases.
Advises teachers on health matters, particularly screening for student health defects.
Prepares and submits reports for Superintendent and State Board of Health.
Attends trainings/workshops and participates in the total school team maintaining health of students.
