Job summary

Southern Boone School District is seeking a dependable and compassionate Substitute School Nurse to provide nursing services and support the health and well-being of students and staff as needed. The role requires an Active LPN license, current CPR/AED certification, and successful completion of background checks.

You will work closely with students, families, teachers and administrators to respond to health needs with calm professionalism and maintain confidential health records.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license required.
• Current CPR/AED certification required.
• Background check through Missouri State Highway Patrol and FBI.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with students, families, teachers, administrators, and other school staff.
• Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to student health needs and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and health services to students in accordance with school district policies and applicable regulations.
• Assess student health concerns and determine appropriate care or follow-up.
• Administer medications and perform nursing procedures as authorized.
• Respond to student illnesses, injuries, and health emergencies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.
• Communicate appropriately with parents/guardians, school staff, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs.
• Support a safe and healthy school environment.
