Qualifications

$25.82/hour (for the 2025-26 school year)

POSITION TITLE: School Nurse

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Registered nurse, licensed practical nurse with valid or current (to include CEU) Ohio license to practice

JOB GOAL: To provide the fullest educational opportunity for each student by minimizing absences due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in the schools.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal/s

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide for the immediate administration of primary first aid; keep administrators updated on any serious injuries; assist in completion of accident reports, when necessary.
2. Maintain a daily log of students seen in clinic and note the disposition of each case; make health assessments when students are sick and call parents when necessary.
3. Properly store all medications. Administer all medication to students as prescribed on the appropriate forms and in accordance with board policy. Supervise the storage of the medication; keep accurate records of medicine distribution administration. Return or properly destroy all medications at the end of the school year.
