Job summary

Fort Madison Community School District is seeking a Substitute Health Assistant to provide temporary health support for students under the supervision of the school nurse. Duties include basic first aid, health record maintenance, and medication administration according to district policy.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, and hold CPR/BLS and Mandatory Reporter Training, with preferred prior school or pediatric health experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have one of the following programs: RN/LPN/MA/CNA.
• CPR/BLS certification and Mandatory Reporter Training required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic first aid and emergency care to ill and/or injured students as directed by the school nurse.
• Maintain and update student health records and logs.
• Administer medications to students per district policy and physician orders.
• Support students' health and well-being during the school day.
• Respond as an emergency responder and participate in drills and training.
