Job summary

Paramus Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Hourly Janitor for district-wide coverage, with the goal of keeping the school environment safe, clean, and welcoming for students, staff, and community members. This position operates on an as-needed basis to support the district throughout the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and safety in facilities; reporting to the Principal and Building Supervisor/Head Custodian; and complying with background checks and

Qualifications

• Certification of good health signed by licensed physician.
• Sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity to perform required tasks.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work.
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
• Must possess a Black Seal Fireman's License for boiler operation or be willing to obtain one within one year of employment.
