Job summary

Nashoba Regional School District in Bolton, MA seeks Building Custodian Substitutes to provide temporary cleaning and maintenance coverage as needed. Hours vary based on district needs, and candidates must complete a CORI check and fingerprinting for hire.

The role supports a safe, clean learning environment under the Facilities Department. Responsibilities include cleaning tasks, light maintenance, and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications

• Must have custodial experience and knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Ability to operate small cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to assist in protecting students and school property and participate in drills as required by law.
• Must be able to walk/stand on tile flooring; lift up to 50 pounds; bend and twist as needed.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs, dusts, sweeps, mops, vacuums, waxes, polishes floors, rooms, hallways and closets.
• Dusts and arranges furniture.
• Washes windows, woodwork, walls and other surfaces.
• Cleans restroom fixtures and replenishes supplies.
• Empties waste receptacles and manages recycling.
• Reports to Facilities Director and Principal on damages or repairs.
• Checks heating/AC equipment and reports issues.
• Performs minor repairs under supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.
