Job summary

Sourcewell is seeking a Building and Grounds/Custodian to provide cleaning, maintenance, and housekeeping services to ensure school buildings are clean and well maintained. Work duties include sanitation, floor care, furniture setup, snow removal, and security tasks.

Under supervision, candidate will perform routine duties, handle restrooms, floors, windows, and general upkeep, with preferred certifications in first aid and CPR and a background check requirement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• First aid certification preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Prior experience within an educational system or working with children preferred.
• Good organizational and communication skills and the ability to interact with the public.
• Valid Minnesota Driver's License.
• Must complete the necessary application process and pass a criminal background check and drug screening test.

Responsibilities

• Cleans restrooms and sanitizes sinks, toilets and drinking fountains.
• Sweeps, mops, power scrubs and waxes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets, washes windows, sands and refinishes wood floors, washes walls, cleans blinds and blackboards.
• Assembles, moves, dusts and polishes furniture. Sets up and tear downs tables and chairs.
• Collects garbage and recyclable materials and places in appropriate containers.
• Maintains building security. Locks and unlocks doors and windows.
• Assists with fire drills
• Removes snow and ice from building entrances, sidewalks, driveways, and play areas
