Berkeley County Schools in Martinsburg, WV seeks standby bus operator(s) to operate a school transportation vehicle and pick up/drop off students safely at scheduled locations. Positions are substitute roles and may lead to full-time bus runs.

Qualified applicants must meet WV State Board requirements, have a High School diploma or GED, pass background checks, obtain a WV CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, and complete the WV School Bus Safety Program. Start date November 18, 2026.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Criminal background check conducted.
• Meet WV Code qualifications for school transportation personnel.
• Demonstrated competency as required by state law.

Responsabilités

• Perform pre/post trip inspections and learn routes.
• Safely operate a school bus to pick up and drop off students.
• Assist and supervise students with disabilities.
• Communicate with students, parents, school officials and supervisors.
• Complete proper paperwork and monthly reports on time.
• Work overtime as needed and adhere to WV policies.
