Job summary

The role requires a valid CDL with School Bus and Passenger Endorsements, a current medical card, a clean driving record, and strong communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License with School Bus and Passenger Endorsement.
• Current Medical Examination card.
• Negative result on pre-employment and random drug screening.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Cleared Driver's License Check.
• Proof of current personal vehicle insurance.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Minimum of three years of driving experience.
• Acceptable FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse results.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all children/adults are in approved safety equipment (seat belts, car seats, STAR Systems).
• Drive with alertness and monitor weather/road conditions.
• Plan and carry out emergency procedures.
• Release children to guardians as designated by parents per policy.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip bus inspections and maintain the Bus Driver Binder.
• Report vehicle accidents to the Center Manager immediately.
• Adhere to traffic laws and CDL regulations.
• Maintain inventory and bus safety equipment per MN DOT requirements.
