Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Meet school bus driver certification requirements.
• Meet state licensing requirements.
• Meet state physical examination requirements.
• Meet local or state standards for driving test.
• Meet local or state standards for driver record check.
• Ability to operate all vehicle types used in transporting students.
• Ability to operate radio communication when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Pre-trip inspection of school bus before each trip.
• Follow established routes and designated bus stops.
• Operate bus on approved time schedule.
• Report bus accidents and student injuries.
• Instruct riders regarding safe behavior.
• Drive with student safety as priority.
• Coordinate with Drivers, maintenance, teachers and principals.
• Comply with state/local regulations.
