Job summary

Staunton City Schools is seeking 4-hour bus drivers for the 2026-27 school year. Part-time and substitute positions are available. Competitive wages, great work environment, weekends/holidays/summers off, and opportunities for extra trips.

Starting wage is $20.49 per hour with DOE/DOQ. Positions open until filled. Immediate supervision by the Coordinator of Transportation. Benefits include health insurance for full-time employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must meet school bus driver certification requirements.
• Must meet state licensing requirements.
• Must pass state physical examination.
• Must meet local/state driving test standards.
• Must pass local/state driver record checks.

Responsibilities

• Drive students to and from school on a safe, efficient schedule.
• Follow established routes, times, and bus stops.
• Report any accidents or injuries to authorities as required.
• Supervise riders and ensure they follow safety rules.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic inspections.
