Substitute - Save Our Streets Center, Bryan, TX

Position Title: Substitute Teacher

Location: Save Our Streets Center – Bryan, Texas

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt: GED or HS Diploma - $80 per day/$40 per half-day

• Has Degree - $110 per day/$55 per half-day
• Teaching Certified - $120 per day/$60 per half day

Reports to: Director/Principal | School: Campus Assigned

Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate and 30 hours of college is preferred

Special Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to instruct children assigned

Physical Abilities

• Ability to stand for at least thirty minutes outside within 15 feet of students
• Ability to assist students tying shoes and button or unbutton coats

Purpose

• Provide instructional services to elementary students.
• Provide a safe learning environment for all students.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Instructional delivery
  • Deliver daily instruction to students assigned
  • Actively engage student in learning
• Student discipline
  • Maintain classroom discipline conducive to a learning environment
  • Provide redirection and disciplinary alternatives to correct student behavior
• Management
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance
  • Compile all records as requested
  • Supervise students on field trips and events at the school and off site, if necessary
• Working environment
  • Maintain emotional control under the stress of instructional operations
  • Be flexible in assisting others as requested
