Job summary

Acelero Learning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is seeking an On Call Substitute Preschool Teacher to support our early childhood education programs. You will join a collaborative team to help classrooms run smoothly and provide caring, developmentally appropriate experiences for young children.

This on-call role offers the chance to gain valuable experience and transferable skills, with a focus on building relationships with children, families, and fellow staff within the Head Start framework.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent; Substitute Certification preferred or Associate/Bachelor's degree.
• Willing to complete Introduction to Childcare Profession Certification or already completed.
• Effective communication and written skills.
• Commitment and passion to work with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Work effectively with other teachers in the assigned classroom and center
• Support the social and emotional development of children using positive guidance approaches
• Encourage family involvement of the children in a Head Start program and develop relationships with families
• Follow all Acelero Learning policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and center operations

Your Role

You will work collaboratively with the teachers to ensure the successful operation of a classroom, while helping to build a better future for the children, their families and our communities. Are you ready to join forces and make a difference?

What You’ll Do

• Work effectively with other teachers in the assigned classroom and center
• Support the social and emotional development of children and using "positive guidance" approaches to dealing with challenging behaviors
• Encourage the involvement of the families of the children in a Head Start program and support the development of relationships between children and their families
• Follow all Acelero Learning policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and other aspects of center operations
