Acelero Learning, Inc. in Dover, DE seeks a Substitute Preschool Teacher for Head Start classrooms of 14–20 children, ages 3 to 4.

This as-needed, part-time role supports one collaborating teacher, covers daily schedules, and helps maintain a safe and engaging learning environment. You will implement the curriculum, foster early literacy and numeracy skills, support social-emotional growth with positive guidance, engage families, and participate in required trainings.

Qualifications

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during coverage.
• Experience assisting in early childhood education is a plus.
• Ability to support learning through play and structured activities.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences to advance literacy, phonemic awareness, print and numeracy, and language development.
• Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment with proper supervision.
• Supports social and emotional development using positive guidance.
• Interacts with children in a supportive manner.
• Encourages family involvement in Head Start program.
• Works with other teachers and center staff.
• Follows all center health, safety, and nutrition policies.
• Reports to Center Director and Early Learning/Disabilities Specialist with schedule changes.
• Attends required meetings, events, and trainings.

The Substitute Teacher will work collaboratively with one other teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom with a total of 14 to 20 children.
