Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking substitute Early Childhood and Special Education Paraprofessionals to fill in when regular paras are absent. Sub Paras support teachers, help manage classrooms, and promote a positive learning environment for K-12 students.

Applicants must hold a High School Diploma or GED and may earn between $22.13 and $23.18 per hour depending on para type, with 7+ assignments monthly expected. Colorado residency is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Special Education Para requires 48 college credits or passing EDReady Math/Reading tests.
• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must reside in Colorado.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Organize students for effective instruction and maintain a safe, productive learning environment.
• Support classroom teacher to foster student engagement and academic participation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher.
