Job summary

ESS is seeking a Substitute Paraprofessional in Clarion, PA to assist classroom teachers and provide targeted support to students with special needs. You will work as part of a school-based team, helping with supervision, instructional reinforcement, and routine classroom tasks.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, adherence to district guidelines, and sensitivity to students’ academic and emotional needs. Clearances and health requirements are mandatory for employment with ESS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• PA Act 24 Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification form 6004 required.
• Clearance checks (PA State Police, FBI, child abuse) needed.
• Tuberculosis test/physical as part of health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class.
• Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials.
• Supervise students in cafeteria, playground, specials, hallways, field trips, and before/after school programs.
• Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.
• Support students with IEPs/504 Plans as specified by the teacher.
• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration.
