Substitute Paraprofessional & Campus Attendant

Job Overview

The Substitute (Sub) Paraprofessional and Sub Campus Attendant support students in various settings both in and out of the classroom. Sub Paraprofessionals assist students with disabilities, support preschool children, and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students, working alongside teachers to aid instruction and behavior management. Sub Campus Attendants supervise students during recess, lunch, and breaks.

Work Schedule

Sub Paraprofessionals work approximately 6.5 hours daily, typically between 7:30 AM-3:30 PM, depending on the site. Sub Campus Attendants at elementary sites work about 3.5 hours from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, while at middle schools, they work about 7.5 hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, depending on the school schedule.

Additional Details

Hours are not guaranteed, and positions are not benefits-eligible. All employment offers are contingent on pre-employment clearances, which the district pays for, including DOJ and FBI fingerprinting, and TB testing.

Responsibilities
  • Assist students with instructional activities and materials under teacher supervision.
  • Support and reinforce behavior plans.
  • Supervise students during unstructured times to maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist students with disabilities and medical needs in daily activities.
  • Maintain instructional materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children.
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid within 90 days of employment (district sponsored).

Additional Information

Note: Onboarding sessions will begin in October 2024 due to high application volume.
