Job summary

Crescent School District is seeking caring, dependable substitute paraeducators to support students and teachers in general and special education settings. You may assist with classroom activities, provide one-on-one or small-group support, and help maintain a positive learning environment.

This role requires adaptability to different classrooms and routines, the ability to meet Washington paraeducator requirements and pass background checks, and a willingness to train as needed to support

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to meet WA paraeducator requirements and pass background checks.
• Training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assisting students with classroom activities and assignments.
• Providing one-on-one or small-group support as directed by the teacher.
• Supporting positive behavior and social-emotional needs.
• Supervising students during lunch, recess, passing times, and other activities.
• Assisting students with personal care needs when trained and appropriate.
• Helping maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming learning environment.
• Working with teachers and staff to meet individual student needs.

Substitute Paraeducators support students and teachers in both general and special education settings. Assignments may include:

• Assisting students with classroom activities and assignments
• Providing one-on-one or small-group support as directed by the teacher
• Supporting positive behavior and social-emotional needs
• Supervising students during lunch, recess, passing times, and other activities
• Assisting students with personal care needs when trained and appropriate
• Helping maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming learning environment
• Working with teachers and staff to meet individual student needs

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and the ability to meet Washington State paraeducator requirements and pass required background checks. Previous experience working with children or students with disabilities is helpful, but training may be provided.
