Responsibilities

• Assess and monitors health needs of students in assigned schools.
• Assist in providing individual health care plans to students.
• Provide emergency and supportive care to students as needed.
• Maintain electronic student health records as required by policy and Florida Statutes.
• Communicate with parents/staff concerning student health needs.
• Review, document, and supervise administering of medications per district policies and Florida statute.
• Maintain the school health clinic and supplies.
• Perform nursing procedures per Nursing, Policy, and Procedure Manual.
• Notify principal and District Health Services Coordinator in case of illness or accident.
• Maintain confidentiality of student health records in accordance with FERPA and privacy laws.
• Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• Notifies the principal and Coordinator of District Health Services, immediately, in cases of serious illness or accident.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of student health and educational records in accordance with FERPA, school policies, and applicable federal and state privacy laws.
• Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
