JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Non-CDL Driver

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education Level: High School Diploma. Valid South Dakota driver's license.
• Clean driving record with no record of DUI convictions in past 10 years.
• One year bus experience desired.
• Continual sitting, reaching, and repetitive hand/arm movements.

REPORTS TO: Transportation Director

WORKS WITH: Transportation Director, Special Education Director, Business Manager, Superintendent

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maintain safety precautions when students are boarding and departing the bus/vehicle.
• Maintain appropriate student management and report student incidents to the appropriate supervisors.
• Follow assigned route and adhere to set schedules.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and submit work orders as necessary.
• Communicate with department personnel, school personnel and parents about student behavior while on the bus.
• Keep assigned bus/vehicle clean and fueled.
• Properly operate all assigned communications equipment.
• Report all accidents, vehicle damage and student injuries as they occur.
• Complete and submit all required reports and documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

• B. Climatic Environment – Moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes.
• C. Hazards – Occasionally subjected to mechanical hazards, vibrations, adverse road conditions.
• D. Work Year – Duties of the position are performed between August 1st and May 30th.
