Green Brook Township Public Schools is seeking reliable individuals to join the team as Substitute Lunchroom Aides at Irene E. Feldkirchner Elementary School. You will provide supervision during lunch and recess, helping maintain a safe and organized cafeteria environment for students.

The role is on an as-needed basis with a pay rate of $17/hour. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience with children, plus required background checks and status verification.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year working with or supervising children.
• Key Skills: Demonstrated ability to interact positively and effectively with young children in group settings.
• Physical Demands: Walking, standing for extended periods, bending, and outdoor supervision.
• Clearances: Background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsabilités

• Supervises students in the cafeteria during meals and in designated areas.
• Maintains a system for orderly food purchases, disposal of food waste, and return of trays and utensils.
• Circulates among tables/areas to assist children or resolve minor problems.
• Ensures cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas.
• Communicates with classroom teachers or security monitors about concerns.
• Brings medical problems and injuries to the attention of school staff.
• Keeps alert to children and their needs at all times.
• Organizes groups for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria, in hallways and other areas.
• Supervises students in designated areas and during movement between areas.
• Follows district policies and procedures.

Performance Responsibilities

• Supervises students in the cafeteria during meals, and other designated areas.


• Maintains a system for orderly food purchase by pupils, disposal of food waste, and return of trays and utensils in the cafeteria.


• Circulates among assigned tables/areas so as to be available to children who need help or to resolve any minor problems that arise.


• Ensures the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas.


• Communicates with the classroom teachers, and/or security monitors about any relevant concerns.


• Brings medical problems and injuries to the immediate attention of school nurse, principal or designee.


• Is alert at all times to the children and their needs.


• Organizes groups for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria, in hallways and other designated areas.


• Supervises students in designated areas, as well as in moving to and from the designated areas.


• Follows all policies, rules and procedures established by the school district.
