Job summary

SoWashCo Schools is seeking a Substitute Kids Club Paraprofessional to support the School Age Child Care program across multiple elementary sites. The role involves assisting KC Supervisors, implementing activities, supervising children, and helping with meal service as needed.

Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, with potential rate increases for Highly Qualified status. Shifts vary (AM 6:30-9:15, PM 2:00-6:00) and the position follows the school calendar, offering flexible daily hours and access

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Sixty hours of relevant training in childcare.
• 1040 hours of previous experience working with children or in childcare setting.
• First Aid CPR certified (current or within 3 months).
• Ability to pass Paraprofessional fitness for duty tests.
• Ability to perform routine computer functions, including email, Microsoft Word and internet navigation.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and assist Kids Club Supervisors with lesson plans and activities, including physical activity, arts, literacy, STEM, and SEL.
• Lead and participate in program events and activities.
• Support safety and attendance documentation for OST programs.
• Model positive behavior and guide children in developing social skills.
• Comply with district policies, confidentiality, and inclusions practices.
• Prepare equipment, set up activities, and assist with meals/snacks as needed.
• Maintain professional conduct and inclusive environment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

First Aid CPR certified

Sixty hours of relevant training in childcare
