Performance Responsibilities
- Tutor individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing and implementing instruction as directed by the teacher
- Perform routine clerical duties such as preparing instructional and classroom materials, operating copy machines, maintaining classroom records, and attendance records
- Support the teacher by setting up work areas, displays, exhibits, operating audio-visual and educational training equipment, and distributing/collecting supplies
- Implement strategies and procedures to maintain safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments
- Promote student independence across educational settings
- Read to students, listen to students read, and engage in oral communication
- Assist students in mastering instructional content
- Help with lunch, snack, cleanup routines, and wash-up and toilet routines as appropriate
- Assist with organization and management of materials
- Operate and care for instructional equipment
- Follow health and safety practices to ensure student safety
- Supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, structured activities, and field trips
