The role reports to the classroom teacher, assists with lesson routines, and helps maintain positive relationships with students and families. Strong communication, reliability, and adaptability are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and adapt to different settings.
• Mandatory reporter training for child abuse (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups with academic and behavioral support as directed by the teacher.
• Help students stay engaged and participate in classroom activities.
• Support implementation of teacher-provided lesson plans and routines.
• Supervise students in classrooms and during transitions (hallways, lunch, recess, etc.).
• Assist with the organization and cleanup of materials and activities.
• Follow all school procedures and staff directions.
